I'm a professional electronic musician and audio engineer. When I'm not working on music and sound I'm teaching others how to do it. I'm a Pro Tools expert and am one of the only people in the world certified to teach Ableton Live - truly revolutionary music production software - by Ableton. I've also been a DJ and promoter - in 2001 the SF weekly awarded my party "Best Pickup Spot for HAL 9000".
In 1999 I received a Master's Degree in East-West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. While there I studied with Stan Grof, Chris Bache, Sean Kelly (my thesis chair), and Richard Tarnas (who taught me astrology). My
thesis was titled "Complex Thinking, Perceiving, and Meaning-Making: The Evolution of Integral Consciousness and the Paradigm of Complexity." I tried to have the longest title in the graduation program, but believe it or not, 2 others were longer!
For years I've been an active supporter of organizations like the Center for Cognitive Liberty & Ethics, The Drug Policy Alliance, and Erowid.Org.
I've been a vegetarian since 1992, have practiced Yoga since 1995, and dabbled in martial arts (Karate, Judo, Muay Thai).
My heroes are Gandhi, Albert Hofman, and Bill Murray.
My favorite movies from the last few years are The Fountain and Planet Terror (Grindhouse).
I like a lot of music - jazz, new wave, metal, dub, funk, indian, african, 20th century, middle eastern.... Coltrane, Mingus, Brian Eno, Massive Attack, Master Musicians of Jajouka, Glen Velez, Johnny Cash, Fela Kuti, James Brown, John Cage, Bauhaus, Horace Andy, Oingo Boingo....
